I tend to write a lot of other things, mainly poems, rhymes and songs. I get my inspiration from anywhere! I just write and write some more! I did, however learn 'The Beaver Song' off the Yr 6's last year. Lastly, in 'The Ridge of One Thousand' I used the chorus from Brian Jacque's novel, The Long Patrol - a special favourite of mine. I really would recommend the Redwall series to others! Also, as you may guess, 'We're the Long Patrol' is a marching song I composed about the Long Patrol in the Redwall series, though it's limp and hopeless compared to Brian Jacques! But it was a laugh to write. =].

I do have other rhymes and poems, but they're quite personal, so I'm afraid I can't post them on this site. Thank you for reading! Please spend the time to comment, as well. The comments box is at the bottom of the page. =P.
=) =D Thx! =O =P

The Ridge Of One Thousand
Chorus:
Slumber through twilight
Sleep through the dawn;
Bright in our memory from first light each morn.
Rest through the winter,
‘Neath the soft snow,
And in the springing, when blossoms do show.
Warriors brave ye gave all ye could give,
Ye offered your lives so that others would live.
No-one can tell what my heart longed to say
When I had to leave here… and you had to stay.
1) And as the spring sun shines on the ridgetop
Shining where ye lie ‘neath the soft earth;
And as the blossoms fall for you
Falling for all they are worth.
Chorus
2) And as the summer sun shines on the ridgetop
Shining where ye lie ‘neath the soft earth;
And as the sun beams for you
Beaming for all that it is worth.
3) And as the autumn sun shines on the ridgetop
Shining where ye lie ‘neath the soft earth;
And as the trees to weep for you
Weeping for all they are worth.
4) And as the winter sun shines on the ridgetop
Shining where ye lie ‘neath the soft earth;
And as the snow swirls for you
Swirling for all that it is worth.
5) And as the season’s sun shines on the ridgetop
Shining where ye lie ‘neath the soft earth;
And as the seasons mourn for ye
Mourning for all that they are worth.
Chorus twice. Repeat last 2 lines.

Believe
Though grief, through pain,
Believe.
Through sun, through rain,
Believe.
Through joy, through sorrow,
Believe.
Through yesterday, tomorrow,
Believe.
Through death, through life,
Believe.
Through rage, through strife,
Believe.
Through days, through years,
Believe.
Though laughter, through tears,
Believe.
Through company, through friends,
Believe.
From beginning, to end,
Believe.
In others, yourself,
Believe…

We’re the Long Patrol a-preparing
Put a weapon in each paw
We’re the Long Patrol a-preparing
Now we’re marching off to war.
We’re the Long Patrol a-marching
With our comrades good and true
We’re the Long Patrol a-marching
To do battle for you.
We’re the Long Patrol a-slaying
For those creatures that were slain
We’re the Long Patrol a-slaying
Now you’ll never leave here again.
We’re the Long Patrol a-grieving
For those comrades that did fall
We’re the Long Patrol a-grieving
We’ll never forget them all.
We’re the Long Patrol home-returning
To those faces that we know
We’re the Long Patrol home-returning
‘Til on adventures we will go.
We’re the Long Patrol home-a-living,
With those families that we knew
We’re the Long Patrol home-a-living
After battle for you.
We’re the Long Patrol a-remembering
Those days I’ve told to you;
We’re the Long Patrol a-remembering
Of those comrades good and true.

I’m a fiercely burning legend,
Set deep into the sky,
I’m a fiercely burning legend,
Gone alas now for a fight.
I’m a fiercely burning legend,
Set deep into Night’s crown,
I’m a fiercely burning legend,
Forever shining down.

A True Friend
Honest, open, trusting
Caring, loyal, kind:
Helpful, understanding,
A true friend to the end,
Supportive, bright, sunny,
Never dampened down,
Ready, eager, gentle,
A true friend to the end.
A good sense of humour,
Always ready and waiting,
Forgiving, helpful,
A true friend to the end.
Accepts you for who you are,
Someone who’ll stay by your side,
Never backs down.
A true friend to the end.

My true friend would be Corinne, though only just!! Charlie, Polly, Georgina, Fish – thank you! You light up the dark times, are always there, and understand and accept me for my dreamy, zany self.

My Ambition
Ever since I could write, imagine;
I knew what my dream would be.
I’d write of places, people and faces
From the depths of my imagination.
Last year I started to write a saga,
A year it took, ‘tis true,
Of wrong and right, dawn and night
From the depths of my imagination.
To see all those faces, changing
As they read my forceful words,
With published books, with different looks
From the depths of my imagination.

The Beaver Song
Beaver one! Beaver all!
Let’s all do the Beaver crawl!
Beaver two! Beaver three!
Let’s all climb the Beaver tree!
Beaver four! Beaver five!
Let’s all do the Beaver Jive!
Beaver six! Beaver seven!
Let’s all fly to Beaver Heaven!
Beaver eight! Beaver nine –
STOP!
It’s Beaver Time! Go Beaver! Go Beaver!

ACTIONS:
Follow instructions on the line, eg. For beaver jive do the seatbelt dance. For last two lines, put your two fists side by side, whirl them in small circles, and yell ‘Go Beaver!’ over & over.

The Poet’s Footsteps
Here come the Poet’s footsteps,
Shuffling along the floor;
‘Neath the covers I cower,
As creaks open the door.
Here come the Poet’s footsteps,
Shuffling towards the bed;
Terror’s here, ‘neath the covers
My heart is filled with dread.
Here come the Poet’s footsteps,
Shuffling in the air;
I peek from ‘neath the covers,
To see him floating there.
“Here come the Poet’s footsteps,
Shuffling with you in hand,”
No longer do I cower,
As the Poet’s got my hand.
Here go the Poet’s footsteps,
Shuffling away from me,
Trapped in Hell, far from home
To live for eternity.

Salamandastron
Salamandastron,
Ruled by a Badger Lord,
With the Long Patrol
Defending the

Crime
This includes the murderers, armed with deadly knives.
So take heed of my advice: never take the bait,
For all you know he’s a criminal, lying in wait.
Then there’s the robbers, waiting for the chance,
When they can slip into the house while you’re out at dance.
They take what they please, though the crime has gone down,
Still keep an eye out, because they are still around.
Next comes some car crime – did you lock your car?
Did you hide your valuables, and set the car alarm?
Because if you didn’t you may learn a hard lesson;
You’ll find that your car no longer is your possession.
There are many more crimes, too numerous to name;
Because to all the criminals, it’s all just a game.
Take any precautions, to stop unleashing crime,
Or else you’ll learn a lesson, and the blame won’t be mine.

A Lonely Day
I first saw your face
Crossing the ocean wide;
And how could I ever explain
How I felt inside?
Your eyes were searching,
With the flames lurking there;
Piercing green, unforgettable
With secrets never to share.
Your laugh was ready
To catch me unawares,
No matter the situation
Your laugh was always there.
The days slowly turned
And we had grown close,
When along came the Redfang
Packed with cowardly foes.
Your eyes no longer calm
But blazing with dreadful rage
The battle then arrived
And a monster took your place.
How can that be my
How could that be a man?
How could someone inflict
Such rage with a blade in hand?
Although now you’re gone,
And now only I remain;
That memory lingers with me
And I’m with you once again.

The Girl
The girl was tall and slim,
And barely made a sound;
Her mouth was small, her nose petite
Her skin a deep, dark brown.
Her hair was soft and dark,
And hung well past her chin;
Her eyes were grey, almond shaped
Her eyebrows fine and thin.
Her long arms were slender,
With large, elegant hands;
Her feet were lean; soles hardened
As she walked over the land.
She wore only a dress,
That was a dark, dark blue;
The dress was torn; it was ripped
Yet it was of great use.
Should you ever see her,
Leave her to go her way;
The girl alone; with the dress
The girl whose name was Kai.

My Dream Boy
Looks don’t matter, why should they?
I want my boy to be open each day.
He needs to be honest, and able to laugh,
Someone who can dream.
He needs to be original, have his own style,
I want him to be dreamy, yet sunny awhile.
No dark moods, and the same age as me,
Someone who can listen.
Blonde hair and blue eyes, I want something new!
His eyes should be different, a stormy grey hue,
Thoughtful and smiling, his hair I don’t care,
Someone who can smile.
