Rayfire

If You're Reading This, You're In Their World.

PA-1.jpg picture by TheHonRosie94OK, peeps. Before, I used to explain here how to overcome writer's block. But right now, if you want that information, just holler! 'Cause I was over at Kylie's site, and, guess what? I was inspired to change this page a little and explain the inspirations for the story and the site. So thanks a bunch, Ky. =P

I suppose a lot of things inspired the story. I've always been an avid reader and one day I said to myself, "Why not have a go at writing a story"? Of course I didn't expect it to become a novel but I really wanted to have something to occupy my time. When I realised how much I was enjoying myself, I decided I wanted to be a writer.

There are quite a few books, first, that inspired me. Eragon by Christopher Paolini set off the whole farm thing. And Brian Jacque's books also helped! I loved how he did his speech - for vermin he made it rough and used lots of slang and for the Abbeybeasts he made it more formal. So when I was reading through the story one day I suddenly thought, "Would Troy, a hardened guy like him, really talk all fancy?" So I decided to make his speech more rough. I.e., knocking off letters and generally having a play with words.

Jacques also inspired the idea of good and bad. In all of his books, he has a good side and a bad side, with the message being good will always prevail. I decided that it would be a good base for Rayfire, too. Stuff kinda evolved, then; I created the Rayfires (before it was some old family, called something wierd beginning with N) and tried to make them stand out and be special, apart from the rest. Sound like Rayfires to you? Yeah. It better.

And so the general story was born.

Next for the site! I have several people to thank here. I was inspired by many sites I came across, as before I had made some sad old site. So sad I'm not even gonna give you the URL. Anyway, so I found Kylie's site, Myuri. I had no idea how HTML worked but I thought it was a great idea and how it was a good way to get more people reading my work so I could improve it. Not only did she inspire me, but Ky is also really supportful and has a real knack for writing, plus some amazing immagination. In short an awesome affy and pal.

She suggested I entered July SOTM over at Heaven Aura and I'm really glad I did, 'cause I met Sasha. I didn't win but ah well. Anyway, she helped me so much with the site and I like the way she organizes things. She suggested this background, made me the enter banner and helped me with my Navi. A little before that we became affies, but we weren't really pals. But you know what? We are now. =P Sasha inspired me to help others to acheive their goals by helping me acheive some of mine. We didn't really know each other but she was really kind to me, offering all of her help and I can't say in words just how thankful I am! I'm really proud to be affies with her (well, naturally. You don't get a site much better then hers!).

There are a lot of other people to thank for inspiring the site/story. My Dad, 'cause he never doubted me once, and my Mum to help me with, like, EVERYTHING! My twin, for giving me hugs when I was feeling in the pits 'cause I was stuck and my sis for lightening up my life... when she's not swearing to kill me because I snaffled some millions. Lily is basically her - Libs is really awesome! My teacher, who was so nice and eager and supportful. My friends, the ones who don't claim me a snob/geek/nerd 'cause I've written this. For just being there. And to my Grandma, R.I.P. I loved you A LOT and you inspired me soooooooo much! You were always so brave and strong and kind. So I dedicate the story to you.
