LAL-4-2.jpg picture by TheHonRosie94This is where reviews and awards are posted. When I get enough hits or similiar things, I'll post awards for you guys. I don't mind either if you ask for an award 'cause I'm more than happy to make you one. Just ask, just please give me the credit. I can also review your site(s) for you if you like, but please review me in return. =]. Anyway, please follow the rules/instructions if there are any as I would hate to have to rig up a 'Wall of Shame' or something along those lines. Thanks.

NAVIGATION (4/5): It's organized in an awesome way! I like how the updates
page is directly below the home, and it is also very interesting the way you
hid the index page (you made it an invisible page) and made a new homepage.
You should make the Reviews page 'Reviews and Awards' or you know with the &
sign or the / sign. Anyways, you'd best put the 'Comments on Rayfire' page
together with the Rayfire Part 1 page. You're doing just fine.

TEXT (4/5): It's awesome the way you're going back and editing. I'd be far
too lazy to ever even consider thinking about doing something as troublesome
as that. ^.^ You're doing a great job of it, though. It's just natural for
one to leave a typo here and there, and that's why you're not QUITE a five.

ORIGINALITY (4/5): Your website is very original! It could use a few more
unique activities going on around it, although the personality quiz is
something I don't see on EVERY website. The general idea/plot of Rayfire is
very interesting and original. I give that TWO thumbs up. Anyways, you
should really call people of Rayfire 'Rayfirins' or whatever you want
(something that contains a part or the word 'Rayfire.' I think it would be
better off if you didn't call them 'Rayfires.' I know that'll take a lot of
time, and that is why it is your choice on whether or not to change it.
Remember, all reviews are just a big handful of opinions.

LAYOUT: (4/5): Your layout is pretty great. But it's not so much as the
template as other items on the page that I'm concerned about. I think you
should cut down on the music, although it is nice. For the enter page, you
should put some kind of dramatic music without singing if possible, as if
saying: ENTER- OR DO NOT- STAY ON EARTH- OR PASS THROUGH THE PORTAL TO
RAYFIRE, kinda thing. On the homepage, you should put some sort of serene,
slightly tangy, mystical, magical sort of wordless song- only if all this is
possible. Also, since you're pretty awesome at graphics, you should make
your own enter banner.

ORGANIAZTION: (4/5): Well, your website is pretty organized- but at the same
time a little bit cluttered. You should stick to one font (which you're
doing an alright job of.)

PURPOSE: (5/5): You make your purpose very clear once you press the enter
button. It really captivates the reader to read a LOT more. I notice that
you are just excellent at that.

COMMENTS: Well done! Keep on doing what you do best- writing!

Website: Heaven Aura

Sasha used her own guidelines for this review. This was before the revamp in August 2008. Needless to say, the site has improved a lot and Sasha is to thank for all of her support. =] She made me the enter banner, helped with my Navi, and even suggested this background. Which rules! Thanks Sasha!! I hope you agree that the new site is better, the review for it is below!

First Impression (2/5): The first thing I think is "Wow, it's so colourful!". But there are so downfalls to your enter page. Firstly, there's no need for you header because there's already an image to click on and it isn't very professional with all the faces and the repetition of "Enter".

An enter page doesn't need much text, maybe how many hits you have a welcome message, affiliates, etc. The text is an eyesore too, neon colours are a bit of a "put-off" to the site. Bright pinks, lime greens, people won't bother to read it. I like how you've explained the navigation but it's just an enter page and that can be explained elsewhere. Also there really isn't a need for an enter page as the navigation is already on the side so they won't need to bother clicking on the enter image.

Layout (5/10): I must say an animated background can be an eyesore and may not be suitable for certain visitors with sight problems. Please stick to one text colour, I know your site is of many colours but sometimes its good not have too many colours because every site has a theme so then it's easier for the visitors' eyes. Your tagboard needs to have matching colours, black with neon blue and pink really isn't that nice to look at and we probably be avoided. You also have a different layout for each page and I think it's best to have one layout for all pages. I understand that Freewebs does limit you on what your layout can be so I suggest learning more on HTML and CSS to make your site more attractive.

Organisation (4/10): Your homepage is very cluttered, and I don't understand why an important notice would be ALL the way the bottom. Very long page. "What is payfire" have it's own page called "About" like most sites. Your hit count and date you started site, tagboard and rules should be on your enter page. The "Hello & Welcome" should be at the VERY top. Your navigation is not very clear, (Freewebs is limiting you here..) this is a suggestion as how it should be (basic).

The affiliates page isn't very organised because the test is all in different alignments which is quite confusing. Sites should be an easy read. Apart from this, every other page is well organised :)

Content (5/10): I don't think your tagboard is very necessary as you already have a guestbook, sites tend to not have both as they both have the same purpose. I like the idea of subscribing to the site but I suggest I seperate page for this or on the homepage. I think you should get rid of the "Other Bits 'N' Bobs" because in my opinion it's just too much going on at the same time. I think affiliates should be on the enter page, they advertise you show you should too instead of just shoving them all on a page. Just show the buttons then have the descriptions on a page. It's great you are helping out other aspiring writers with tips. Now your story is good but I think you should change the font to a more attractive one because this does tend to show laziness to not bother changing the font (Times New Roman). You have also have two prologues and the font for the first one is VERY messy looking. I really like your poems and for your recommendation for books to read, perhaps a little chat room too.

Extras (3/5): Sneak preview of chapter 41 is a good idea but I see that it goes up the chapter 23... Plus the chapters should be on sepearate pages to not discourage visitors to read, they might think "I'm not reading all that..." I also like your personality quiz :)

Overall (4.75/10): I know I may have sounded harsh but you need to know so you can improve. I know Freewebs Basic is VERY limiting on what you CAN do to make your site look attractive and I find it very confusing to use myself ^^'' But if you ever need help with your site, I am willing to help ^^

SECOND REVIEW (AFTER REVAMP, AUGUST 2008):

Myspace Page Dividers

Reviewed By: Sasha

Website: Heaven Aura

Sasha used her own guidelines for this review. This was after the August 2008 revamp, 'cause Sasha very kindly reviewed the site again for me! So I'm really super-duperly (who cares if that's not a word?!) grateful and thanks a lot Sasha, if you need anything just ask. =P

First Impression (4/5): This page is very organised, colourful and really stands out. I like how you've got the site stats next to the enter sign so the visitor will notice them straight away. Affiliates place nicely in a column with a link to apply. Lovely description underneath the enter sign. I realised that your link exchanges, "Dusk Heart" and "The Elf Girl" aren't fully linked. Dusk Heart only has "Dusk" as the link and The Elf Girl only has "The" linked. The text decoration underneath your affies coloumn looks a bit "fuzzed" out compared to the one above so just a quick fix in perhaps the font or size that's different. You spelt "stride" wrong in your description "In my world stide the Rayfires". Great improvement!

Layout (7/10): The layout is very colourful with varieties of purple and blue that mix well. It's a shame that the ad freewebs put is blocking Iriya's face :( Because the background has dark colours, I would suggest a dark background to your content. But then again, the text colours stand out on a white background. There's this Freewebs site who has I dark coloured content background that I'd think would look nice on yours, you may have to change the text colours though.
[Click] Your guestbook sign should be cropped to get rid of the view of under her skirt, visitors might be offended or "put off" by your site if they see that because it looks like she isn't wearing any underwear ''>.> I love your signs though, black and white images with a bright blue text which stands out. I think you shouldn't have "Click Click Click Click Click" on your banners though.

Organisation (10/10): You content is A LOT more organised, especially the enter page and home page which visitors judge your site on the most. Your paragraphs are nicely laid out with using different shades of blue for each one to keep the visitor reading.

Your updates are quite clear but I think as the months go by they should be in linked as "August Updates", "September Updates", just so it's tidy and the visitor doesn't end up ignoring all your hard work you've put in ^^ And I can't believe you're 11! I started websites at 14 I think and I was very rubbish at first so you can be a lot better than me :P

Content (8/10): Easy to navigate around the site, I would suggest the Credits had it's own page because it's at the very bottom of the guestbook. Visitors are less likely to scroll all the way down. On the homepage, the first paragraph is in italic and underline which makes it hard to read and "Happy Reading" at the bottom is kinda mixed into to each other ^^'' Didn't know how I could say that in another way lol I like how you highlight certain phrases or words in a light blue to attract attention to the text. I understand that you can't have anymore pages, perhaps another host would be easier but then again it's hard to transfer everything and adapt to that host's web editors. I've noticed that at the very bottom of The Chapters page, there's a broken link on the sign for comments on the story. Your Inspiration page hasn't got a background too. I think you should have a page saying "Link to Rayfire" so people can advertise your site on theirs, or put it on your Affiliation page.

Extras (5/5): As soon as you click enter you get welcomed by cute little creatres holding up a sign, I like that ^^ I think the key in your characters page is a great idea to help visitors understand. Your chapters that are diary entry look like handwriting wihch is a good touch.

Overall (8.5/10): A GREAT IMPROVEMENT! All there is to do is small changes that have been mentioned, everything else is great. Keep it up!

Thanks Sasha!

Grammar 8/10: Not many mistakes! I do recall something done wrong grammar wise the story and maybe the 'About Me' page.

Creativity 50/50: VERY creative! The story has many twists and turns and the overall site rules!

Content in content 8/10: A LOT of content in the content too. I'm sort of tired now...

Functionality 14/15: It's sort of a slow loader. It freezes, loads, then allows me to regain control. I haven't been on any site so far that does that. Maybe it's because we're countries apart.

Orgnization 50/50: Very organized! So much so that I can find any kind of information dealing with your site in a blink of an eye.

Content- 26/30 Having a site is a great way to express yourself as well as present your work (writing in particular) to the public eye. I really enjoyed looking through such interesting writing! Some of the things, when I looked at your pages, have things that don't make a whole lot of sense (ex: the "About" page really had be scratching my head). Either grammar or spelling prevented me from reading with ease.

Design- 18/20 You have a good sense of color and design. Although I can say, that it's definitely not my style, anyone can see that you've put a lot of effort and thought into how you want to present your site. The only large suggestion is that you change the color of your font. It's also good to change the background from each page, unless you create a layout using coding, then, most times a background isn't necessary. Some of the color is really light, and hard to read easily. It's good to be consistent in color as well as font to give a professional appearance.

Navigation- 10/10

Other- 9/10 everyone can see that you really like your site, and keep it up to date. It is very popular with good colors. I just wanted to point out that disabling right click does nothing but lengthening the process of "copy and paste". If I were you, then I'd just get rid of it. It's annoying in my opinion. If you want to protect something, then put it under password protection. Just a thought ^^

Overall- 8/10

Total =   71/80 > 89%
